Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, I currently live in Atlanta, Georgia with my husband.  I attended Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio and received a Bachelor of Art degree in Sociology with a concentration in Gerontology and Social Work practice in 2001.  Later in my professional journey, I earned a Master of Science in Social Administration (equivalent to a Master in Social Work)  from Case Western Reserve University.  I concentrated in Clinical Social Work, Direct Practice, Healthcare Administration and Policy.

My career in Aging began years before at a skilled nursing facility in Chagrin Falls, Ohio where I provided direct support to residents.  I then moved into home health services where I continued to care for older adults but also helping those intimately involved in their care.  After graduation from Ursuline College,  I provided life enrichment program development and practice at an Assisted Living and Memory Care community.  The next 13 years were devoted to the vulnerable and disabled adult population working for the local government in Cleveland, Ohio investigating cases of alleged abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.  In this capacity, I provided assessment, case planning, crisis intervention, health coaching, and community care coordination for older and disabled adults.  I was also employed as an Administrative Manager with the Cleveland Department of Aging providing support services to thousands of Cleveland seniors and the disabled community.

I wear several hats: 1) as a licensed social worker I support individuals in exploring their needs and identifying innate tools and skills to enhance their lives now and into the future.  I do this by creating an alliance that respects individuals autonomy, confidentiality and values, 2) as an advocate my work prioritizes the needs of the older adult community and supporting organizations and communities that align with elder justice,  3) as an Aging expert I work with organizations that are heavily focused on improving the lives of older adults and building age- inclusive environments.
